Podcasts are all the rage these days and while I only listen to a few, there are so many out there to choose from. It can get a bit overwhelming, so I'm here to tell you the podcasts I listen to regularly.
This podcast will have you on the edge of your seat 24/7, it's that good. Serial is a podcast that investigates real stories and is done by Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder. Each season deals with a different non-fiction story and Koenig and Snyder proceed to investigate the story as each episode goes on. I don't want to spoil much, but the first season deals with Adnan Syed, the accused murderer of his ex-girlfriend. Is Syed truly guilty? It will definitely be hard to tell, and Koenig and Snyder present all the facts and different scenarios. This one will really make you think critically. It's definitely like listening to a mystery-thriller audio book.
2.) Pod Save America
Yep, you could say I'm a friend of the pod! (If you're not a fan, you won't understand that reference). Pod Save America is a podcast hosted by Crooked Media founders Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor. These guys also happened to work in the Obama admin and are fierce advocates for "a no-bullsh*t conversation about politics," a quote from their official Crooked site, which you should definitely check out here for more information. The pod does exactly that and more, and occasionally can bring humor and light to the situation they are discussing. If you have a particularly long and boring drive to make, I recommend Pod Save America. They will keep you informed, make you laugh, and give you hope for our country.
3.) The West Wing Weekly
This podcast goes through each episode of my favorite show, The West Wing, and discusses all different things about each episode. If you're a West Wing fan and you didn't know this existed...well you do now. Joshua Malina, an actor from The West Wing, and Hrishikesh Hirway, a musician, host this podcast together and they discuss everything so well with incredible detail. If you're a fan of anything pop culture, I would recommend this podcast...but first, watch the series! It's on Netflix and you won't regret it.
4.) Gals on the Go
Hosted by YouTubers Brook Miccio and Danielle Carolan, Gals on the Go is something any college girl will love. I love this podcast for a couple of reasons. I can relate to it immensely and it provides insightful advice for 20 somethings like me. Brooke and Danielle are wonderful together and make a very funny pair. They give advice, tips, tricks, you name it. I recommend watching their YouTube channels as well so you can get to know them and put faces to voices! Overall, a great one to listen to if you're at the gym and just need something easy to listen to.
Aaaand that's all! If you like things like this, let me know and I'll do more "recommendation" posts! Since having knee surgery I can't do any outfit posts for a while so things like this will have to do. Hope you enjoyed.
